Description

Alfredo Pasta is the ultimate creamy comfort dish — featuring tender fettuccine coated in a rich, velvety sauce made with butter, cream, and Parmesan cheese. It’s simple, indulgent, and perfect for weeknight dinners or elegant occasions alike.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340g) fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat and stir for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese gradually, stirring constantly until melted and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). If the sauce becomes too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest, most flavorful sauce.
  • Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or broccoli for a heartier meal.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
  • Best served immediately, as the sauce thickens when cooled.
