Description

Fudgy vanilla brownies swirled with creamy banana pudding and topped with crushed vanilla wafers for a decadent twist on classic banana pudding.

Ingredients

  • 1 box vanilla or yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 box instant banana pudding mix (3.4 oz)
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup crushed vanilla wafers
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a thick batter forms.
  3. Press two-thirds of the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the banana pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the pudding over the brownie layer.
  6. Dollop the remaining batter on top and gently swirl with a knife.
  7. Sprinkle crushed vanilla wafers (and white chocolate chips, if using) over the top.
  8. Bake 25–30 minutes or until set around the edges but slightly soft in the center.
  9. Cool completely before slicing for clean layers.

Notes

  • Chill the brownies for 1–2 hours to help them firm up before cutting.
  • Add sliced bananas just before serving for extra banana flavor.
  • Do not overbake—these brownies are meant to stay soft and custardy.
