Description
Fudgy vanilla brownies swirled with creamy banana pudding and topped with crushed vanilla wafers for a decadent twist on classic banana pudding.
Ingredients
- 1 box vanilla or yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 box instant banana pudding mix (3.4 oz)
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk
- 1 cup crushed vanilla wafers
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a thick batter forms.
- Press two-thirds of the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the banana pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the pudding over the brownie layer.
- Dollop the remaining batter on top and gently swirl with a knife.
- Sprinkle crushed vanilla wafers (and white chocolate chips, if using) over the top.
- Bake 25–30 minutes or until set around the edges but slightly soft in the center.
- Cool completely before slicing for clean layers.
Notes
- Chill the brownies for 1–2 hours to help them firm up before cutting.
- Add sliced bananas just before serving for extra banana flavor.
- Do not overbake—these brownies are meant to stay soft and custardy.
