Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
- 1/4 cup finely diced onion
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp finely chopped pickles (for sauce)
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp paprika
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, chopped pickles, vinegar, and paprika to make the special sauce. Set aside.
- Season ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Divide into 8 portions.
- Press each portion thinly onto one side of a tortilla, covering most of the surface.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Place tortilla beef-side down and cook for 2-3 minutes until beef is browned.
- Flip and cook tortilla side for 1-2 minutes until lightly crispy.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the beef while hot so it melts.
- Remove from heat and top with lettuce, pickles, diced onion, and drizzle with special sauce.
- Fold in half like a taco and serve immediately.
Notes
- Cook beef side first to create a crispy smash-style texture.
- Use American cheese slices for a more classic flavor.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
- Can substitute ground turkey if preferred.
