Description

A savory and satisfying chicken melt topped with crispy bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, and creamy ranch flavor, perfect for an easy lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Season the chicken breasts on both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until lightly golden.
  4. Transfer the chicken to the prepared baking dish.
  5. Spread ranch dressing evenly over each chicken breast.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature reaches 165°F / 74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven, garnish with green onions if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil the chicken for the last 2–3 minutes.
  • You can substitute cheddar with a cheddar-jack blend for more flavor.
  • This dish pairs well with a side salad, roasted vegetables, or cauliflower mash.
