Description
Cheesy Jalapeño Popper Bites are crispy, creamy, and spicy appetizer bites filled with jalapeños, cream cheese, cheddar, and seasonings.
Ingredients
- 2 jalapeños, finely diced
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Roll the mixture into small bite-sized balls and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze for 20–30 minutes to firm up.
- Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- Roll each chilled bite in flour, dip in egg, then coat with panko.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the bites in small batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
Notes
- You can bake them at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes instead of frying.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer jalapeños.
- Serve with ranch or chipotle mayo for dipping.
