Description
The Classic Three-Envelope Roast is an easy, flavorful slow-cooker beef roast made using three seasoning packets that create a rich, savory gravy—perfect for a no-fuss dinner with incredible taste.
Ingredients
- 1 (3–4 lb) beef chuck roast
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 packet Italian dressing mix
- 1 cup water or beef broth
- 2 tbsp olive oil (optional for searing)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the roast lightly with salt and pepper.
- (Optional) Sear roast in a hot skillet with olive oil for 3–4 minutes per side for extra flavor.
- Place roast into the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together ranch mix, brown gravy mix, Italian dressing mix, and water (or broth).
- Pour the mixture over the roast.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until tender and falling apart.
- Shred or slice roast and serve with gravy from the slow cooker.
Notes
- Add carrots, potatoes, or onions to make it a full one-pot meal.
- Use broth instead of water for a richer gravy.
- Leftovers make great sandwiches or sliders.
