Toasted bagels loaded with a creamy, cheesy bacon filling — a savory and indulgent breakfast or brunch treat that combines crispy bacon, melted cheddar, and smooth cream cheese.
Ingredients
- 4 bagels, sliced in half
- 6 oz (170g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 1 tbsp chopped green onions or chives
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp butter (for toasting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon, mayonnaise, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and well combined.
- Toast bagel halves lightly in a toaster or on a skillet with butter until golden.
- Spread the bacon-cheddar mixture generously on each bagel half.
- Place the bagels on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, cool slightly, and serve warm.
Notes
- For an extra kick, add a pinch of chili flakes or hot sauce to the mixture.
- Use turkey bacon for a lighter version.
