Description
Crispy Baked Jalapeño Poppers are a lighter, oven-baked version of the classic appetizer—filled with creamy cheese, seasoned breadcrumbs, and just the right amount of heat for the perfect party snack.
Ingredients
- 10–12 fresh jalapeños, halved and seeded
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt until smooth.
- Fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture.
- In a bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with melted butter.
- Press the breadcrumb mixture onto the tops of the filled jalapeños.
- Place poppers on the baking sheet and lightly spray tops with cooking spray.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Serve warm with ranch or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Leave some seeds for extra heat.
- Use flavored panko (garlic or Italian) for added taste.
- Add crumbled bacon to the filling for a smoky version.
