Description

Crispy Baked Jalapeño Poppers are a lighter, oven-baked version of the classic appetizer—filled with creamy cheese, seasoned breadcrumbs, and just the right amount of heat for the perfect party snack.

Ingredients

  • 1012 fresh jalapeños, halved and seeded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt until smooth.
  3. Fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture.
  4. In a bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with melted butter.
  5. Press the breadcrumb mixture onto the tops of the filled jalapeños.
  6. Place poppers on the baking sheet and lightly spray tops with cooking spray.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  8. Serve warm with ranch or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Leave some seeds for extra heat.
  • Use flavored panko (garlic or Italian) for added taste.
  • Add crumbled bacon to the filling for a smoky version.
