Description

Decadent Caramel Chocolate Cake is a rich, moist chocolate cake layered with creamy caramel sauce and topped with smooth chocolate frosting—an indulgent dessert perfect for celebrations and chocolate lovers.


Ingredients

    • Chocolate Cake:
    • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
    • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
    • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 cup boiling water or hot coffee

 

    • Caramel Filling:
    • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
    • 1/2 tsp sea salt (optional)

 

  • Chocolate Frosting:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  4. Slowly add boiling water or hot coffee to the batter (it will be thin).
  5. Pour batter into pans and bake for 28–32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes completely before assembling.
  7. Spread caramel sauce over the top of one cake layer; sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
  8. Prepare frosting by beating butter, powdered sugar, cocoa, cream, and vanilla until fluffy.
  9. Place second cake layer on top and frost entire cake.
  10. Drizzle extra caramel on top if desired.

Notes

  • For extra indulgence, add a layer of chocolate ganache on top of the caramel.
  • Hot coffee deepens the chocolate flavor but can be replaced with hot water.
  • Chill cake before slicing for clean layers.
