Description
A moist and rich double chocolate banana bread packed with ripe bananas, cocoa powder, and chocolate chips for a decadent chocolatey twist on classic banana bread.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add melted butter and mix well.
- Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture.
- Pour in the milk and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness and flavor.
- You can substitute half the butter with vegetable oil for extra moisture.
- Add chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
