Description

A moist and rich double chocolate banana bread packed with ripe bananas, cocoa powder, and chocolate chips for a decadent chocolatey twist on classic banana bread.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter and mix well.
  4. Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture.
  7. Pour in the milk and mix until just combined.
  8. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  11. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness and flavor.
  • You can substitute half the butter with vegetable oil for extra moisture.
  • Add chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
