Description
A rich and creamy Olive Garden-style Alfredo sauce made with butter, cream, garlic, and Parmesan cheese, perfect for pasta lovers.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 2 cups (480ml) heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups (200g) freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 12 oz (340g) fettuccine pasta
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
- Reduce heat to low and gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth.
- Add salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Stir well.
- Let the sauce thicken for 3–5 minutes while stirring continuously.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and smooth texture.
- Do not boil the sauce after adding cheese to prevent separation.
- You can add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
- If sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water to loosen it.
