Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup (120 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) vegetable oil or melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
- Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease and let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir in the cooked sausage and shredded cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, and oil until combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among muffin cups.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before serving.
