Description
Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are an indulgent dessert made with creamy cheesecake filling and sweet strawberries sandwiched between bread, then fried until golden and crispy.
Ingredients
- 8 slices white sandwich bread
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh strawberries
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed graham crackers
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped strawberries gently.
- Trim the crusts off the bread slices.
- Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly on four slices of bread and top with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
- Place the breadcrumbs or crushed graham crackers in another shallow bowl.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides, then press into the breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the sandwiches for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- Use firm bread to prevent the filling from leaking while frying.
- Fresh strawberries work best, but well-drained frozen strawberries can be used.
- Serve with chocolate sauce or strawberry syrup for extra indulgence.
