Rich, dense, and ultra-fudgy brownies with a chewy texture and deep chocolate flavor.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 8 oz (225g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and chopped chocolate together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (double boiler method), stirring until smooth.
- Remove from heat and whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold until just combined—do not overmix.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For extra fudginess, slightly underbake the brownies.
- Chill brownies before cutting for clean slices.
- Add chocolate chips or nuts for variation.
