Description

Soft, rich, and gooey chocolate chip cookie bars baked in one pan—perfect for quick gatherings or a comforting sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 22–28 minutes, or until edges are golden and the center is slightly soft for a gooey texture.
  8. Allow to cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • For extra gooey bars, slightly underbake them.
  • Add chopped walnuts or pecans for added texture.
  • White or milk chocolate chips can be substituted.
