Ingredients

  • 2 lbs cooked chicken breast, shredded or cubed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked rice or cooked pasta (optional base)
  • 1 cup crushed buttery crackers or breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp melted butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. If using rice or pasta as a base, spread it evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella until fully combined.
  5. Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the base (or directly in the dish if not using a base).
  6. In a small bowl, mix crushed crackers or breadcrumbs with melted butter.
  7. Sprinkle the buttery topping evenly across the casserole.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
  9. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

  • Use a rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • Add thawed mixed vegetables for a heartier casserole.
