Description

Magic Cookie Bars, also known as Seven Layer Bars, are a rich and chewy dessert made with layers of graham cracker crust, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and sweetened condensed milk — a true crowd-pleaser that’s easy to make!


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and graham cracker crumbs until evenly moistened. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a crust.
  3. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust.
  4. Layer chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and nuts (if using) evenly over the top.
  5. Press down gently with the back of a spoon to help the layers stick together.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  7. Allow bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares or bars.
