Description

One Pan Marry Me Chicken Orzo is a creamy, savory, and ultra-comforting dish featuring tender seared chicken cooked with orzo pasta in a rich sun-dried tomato cream sauce. Everything comes together in one pan for an easy, elegant dinner that’s sure to impress.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and sun-dried tomatoes. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir in Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (optional), and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Return chicken to the skillet, nestling it into the orzo mixture.
  7. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender and sauce is creamy.
  8. Stir in butter for extra richness. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil and additional Parmesan before serving.

Notes

  • If sauce thickens too much, add extra broth or cream.
  • Use chicken thighs for juicier meat.
  • Orzo continues to absorb liquid as it sits — serve immediately for the creamiest texture.
  • For a lighter version, swap heavy cream with half-and-half.
