Description
Philly Cheese Steak Casserole is a keto-friendly and budget-conscious comfort dish made with seasoned ground beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and plenty of melted cheese baked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 900 g ground beef
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Reduce heat and stir in cream cheese and heavy cream until creamy and combined.
- Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish.
- Top evenly with shredded mozzarella and provolone slices.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use ground turkey for a leaner option.
- Add mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Serve over cauliflower rice for a complete keto meal.
