Description
Quick Christmas Cranberry Meatballs are sweet, tangy, festive party appetizers made with frozen meatballs simmered in a cranberry–BBQ glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 (32 oz) bag frozen meatballs
- 1 cup cranberry sauce (jellied or whole)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan or slow cooker, whisk together cranberry sauce, BBQ sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Add frozen meatballs and stir to coat evenly in the sauce.
- Cook on the stovetop over medium heat for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and the sauce thickens. (Or cook in a slow cooker on HIGH for 2 hours.)
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
- Serve warm as an appetizer or holiday party snack.
Notes
- Use turkey or chicken meatballs for a lighter option.
- Add a splash of orange juice or zest for extra brightness.
- These can be kept warm in a slow cooker for parties.
