Description
Quick and crispy potato balls made with mashed potatoes, cheese, and simple seasonings—fried or baked in minutes for a fast snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 2 cups mashed potatoes (leftover or freshly made)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Extra breadcrumbs for coating
- Oil for frying or baking spray
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until the mixture is firm enough to shape. If too soft, add extra breadcrumbs.
- Roll into small balls and coat each one lightly in breadcrumbs.
- To fry: Heat oil in a pan and fry potato balls for 2–3 minutes until golden.
- To bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), place balls on a lined tray, spray with oil, and bake for 12–15 minutes.
- Serve hot with ketchup, aioli, or spicy mayo.
Notes
- Add chopped herbs like parsley or chives for extra flavor.
- Use leftover mashed potatoes for a faster recipe.
- Add a small cube of cheese in the center for a gooey filling.
