- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) golden syrup or light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (plus extra for topping)
- 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 18–20 minutes, until lightly golden.

- Stir in the sea salt, then pour the caramel over the baked base and spread evenly.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 12–15 minutes. Let cool slightly.
- Melt the chocolate chips and spread evenly over the caramel layer.
- Sprinkle lightly with extra sea salt. Chill until set, then cut into bars.
Notes
- Use parchment paper for easy removal and clean slicing.
- For extra flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
