Description
Rich, fudgy chocolate brownies swirled with luscious salted caramel for the ultimate indulgent dessert that perfectly balances sweet and salty flavors.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 8 oz (225g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (120ml) salted caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
- Flaky sea salt, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
- Melt butter and chopped chocolate together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (or in the microwave in short bursts). Stir until smooth, then let cool slightly.
- Whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until glossy and thick.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold until just combined — do not overmix.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Drizzle half the caramel sauce over the top and gently swirl with a knife.
- Add the remaining brownie batter, then drizzle the rest of the caramel and swirl again to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt just before serving.
Notes
- For extra decadence, use homemade salted caramel sauce.
- Chill before slicing for clean, even cuts.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a fudgier texture.
