Description

Rich, fudgy chocolate brownies swirled with luscious salted caramel for the ultimate indulgent dessert that perfectly balances sweet and salty flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
  • 8 oz (225g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) salted caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
  • Flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  2. Melt butter and chopped chocolate together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (or in the microwave in short bursts). Stir until smooth, then let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until glossy and thick.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold until just combined — do not overmix.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Drizzle half the caramel sauce over the top and gently swirl with a knife.
  6. Add the remaining brownie batter, then drizzle the rest of the caramel and swirl again to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt just before serving.

Notes

  • For extra decadence, use homemade salted caramel sauce.
  • Chill before slicing for clean, even cuts.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a fudgier texture.
