Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam or pie filling
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Cut puff pastry into 4–6 squares depending on desired size.
- Place 1 tablespoon of cheesecake filling and 1 tablespoon of strawberry filling in the center of each square.
- Fold pastry over to form a triangle and crimp edges with a fork to seal.
- Brush tops with egg wash for golden color.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
- Use fresh diced strawberries mixed with a little sugar for a fresher filling.
- For extra sweetness, drizzle with a simple vanilla glaze.
- Turnovers can be frozen before baking—just add a few extra minutes to the bake time.
