Description
Tender steak pieces coated in a sweet and sticky glaze, perfect for a quick and flavorful appetizer or main dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- Green onions, chopped for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the steak cubes and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until browned on all sides. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
- Return the steak to the skillet and toss to coat the steak in the sticky sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the steak to absorb the flavors and the sauce to become sticky.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the steak in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
- You can substitute the sirloin steak with ribeye or flank steak for a different texture.
- Serve this dish with steamed rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
