Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks; drain excess fat.
  6. Stir in crushed tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for 10 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly.
  9. Remove from heat and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  10. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
