Description
A crispy and flavorful garlic bread topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and a hint of garlic butter, perfect as an appetizer or side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread or baguette
- 3 medium tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
- Mix butter, half of the garlic, and a pinch of salt, then spread evenly on the bread.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly toasted.
- In a bowl, combine tomatoes, remaining garlic, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Remove bread from oven and top with the tomato mixture.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top if using.
- Return to oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes until cheese melts.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use ripe, firm tomatoes for the best flavor.
- You can add a drizzle of balsamic glaze before serving.
- For extra crunch, toast the bread slightly longer before adding toppings.
